Grant applications can be disheartening and confusing, especially if you’ve been unsuccessful before or have never written one. It takes time, skills, and an understanding of the process to succeed, and that’s where we help. We manage the entire process for you, or simply step in to support you where needed, making the complex world of grant applications much less daunting, especially when your time is already stretched thin with daily responsibilities. It’s about more than just finding a grant; it’s about mastering the process, understanding the nuanced approach, and working within the entire system.

Grant Writing
While the grant writing process involves much more than simply writing (larger projects might involve a dedicated team of four, with our role focusing on grant writing and contributing to specific documents like risk or project plans), applicants often underestimate the time commitment involved. Grant guidelines are quickly read, but completing an online application form can take five hours or more – and that’s not counting creating all the supporting documents. This underestimation becomes particularly problematic if the application is postponed until the final week, especially if they need quotes or letters of support. By then, it is often too late.
While we can pull together projects under tight deadlines (and often do), it means late nights and increased costs. Our goal is to help you be proactive, not reactive, ensuring a smoother and more cost-effective experience. Crafting a grant proposal typically spans four to five days for the entire process, though some proposals may require significantly more time due to extensive research, additional documentation, or ongoing follow-ups with third parties.
Get Grant Ready
Many organisations believe they are “grant ready” because they have a great idea or have previously applied for a grant. This is a common misconception.
Every grant is unique, requiring customisation to existing documents like risk management plans to the grant criteria and project. We’ll help you become truly grant ready by analysing your project plan and identify grant programs that your project might be eligible for. Then we’ll advise what support documents you will likely need (for example: CV matrix, risk management plan, budget, capability statement, case studies) to ensure you are as ready as possible when suitable grant programs are announced. Sometimes you only have 2 or 3 weeks to prepare and submit your application.
We ensure every application we submit is fully compliant to the eligibility criteria. We don’t just write; we meticulously review all aspects, from budget eligibility to mandatory insurances required. Our thorough approach minimizes the risk of your application being declined due to preventable eligibility issues.
Pre-Grant Review
Did you know 54% of grant applications never get submitted, and just over 30% don’t make it through the first assessment stage?
There’s nothing worse than investing time, resources, and money in a grant application only to realise later that you weren’t eligible or missed important criteria that lost your marks. We will review the grant programs you are thinking of applying for against your project and existing documents.
We can advise you if your project and/or organisation is eligible, and if you have all required supporting documents to submit, before you apply, saving you time and resources. If you are eligible, we can strategically review and advise how to improve your chances of marking higher and winning the grant.
After years of experience assessing and writing grants, and training other grant writers, we have developed a proven Grant Writing System that has helped countless people win grants across all industries and sectors.
Regional NSW Council
May 2024
We were contacted by a regional NSW council seeking professional grant writing help for a significant infrastructure funding application. The application required a business case, alignment to government policies and strategies, detailed budget created in accordance with treasury modelling, and documented community consultation. The council did not have the internal resources required for such a detailed application and we were engaged to create all required documents as well as writing the funding application.
The result was the council won $2.6M for their infrastructure project.
WA Council
February 2025
A council based in WA contacted us seeking an application to a jobs and economic development program through the National Indigenous Australians Agency.
The council had a director with limited grants experience requiring support with a complex grant application and short deadline. They were particularly interested in working with our organisation as we have a strong track record of authentically working with First Nation organisations and writing funding applications with First Nation targets. We collaborated with the WA council to create a strategically competitive application with demonstrated need.
The result was the council won $1.2M
